Dr. Samuel Kalibala for Ambitions and Keeping Up Appearances in the Making of a Doctor

About the Book: Musa is a young man in Uganda who struggles to pay school fees and stay in school until he graduates as a doctor. It begins with his father’s desire to keep up appearances in an elite club and his mother’s ambition to become a nurse. Musa survives in school, doing well academically while trying to be the darling of girls, but he competes with rich boys and sugar daddies. They are in the difficult position of needing money but also wanting true love from a boy like Musa. Young men and women in school want to love and be loved but financial constraints make it difficult for them to have true love without sacrificing their dreams.
Dr. Samuel Kalibala is a physician specializing in international HIV/AIDS programming. He is a member of Takoma Park Presbyterian Church since 2012. In his free time, he raises funds for primary health care for rural areas in Uganda. In his new book, Ambitions and Keeping Up Appearances in the Making of a Doctor, Dr. Kalibala narrates how a young man called Musa struggles to find school fees to stay in school. Musa keeps up appearances to compete with rich boys and sugar daddies for the attention of girls as he rolls on to become a doctor.
