Whale and Snail prepare for Quail’s birthday in the fourth book in the Level 2 Ready-to-Read series about friendship from award-winning author Erica S. Perl!

It’s almost Quail’s birthday! Snail and Whale want to give rocks to Quail as gifts, but they both pick out the same one. First, they get angry. Then, they find a way to give rocks, and kindness, to their friend. More than any gift, Quail wants peace and quiet to read!

Erica S. Perl (she/her) is the author of more than 40 popular and critically acclaimed books for children. She’s also collaborated on books with Dolly Parton and R.J. Palacio.  Erica teaches in the MFA program at VCFA/CalArts and she does writing workshops and presentations at schools, libraries, and conferences.
